Construction is Underway on Westwood's Campus!
Here's a summary of active and upcoming projects on the Westwood campus:
-
Welcome Center at Door #2 Construction is now underway on a new Welcome Center at Door #2, which will serve as the primary weekday entrance to the building. Completion is expected by mid-July.
-
New Security Door near Good Shepherd Hall. A new wood-frame and glass security door will be installed across the hallway near Good Shepherd Hall beginning in late June. This will improve safety and manage public access to the main building during weekday hours.
-
Sanctuary Air Handler Replacement Work is being planned to replace the existing Sanctuary air handler with a newer, more efficient unit. Demolition is scheduled for early August, with the new system operational within a few weeks.
-
Rooftop Mechanical Unit Replacement. One rooftop mechanical unit is scheduled for replacement in early September, coordinated with remodeling work on the two WECC classrooms it serves.
Please use caution when on campus, as construction is underway both inside and outside the building. We will do our best to keep you informed of notable updates. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work through these exciting projects together!
Detailed monthly updates are available in the E-News.

Westwood Early Childhood Center (WECC)
Updated as of May 28, 2026:
Classroom construction projects went live in early May!
As a reminder, the purpose of this project is to update our classrooms, remain in compliance
with NAEYC recommendations, and further strengthen safety and security throughout the building. This project has been thoughtfully planned to make it as smooth as possible for
children, families, and staff.
Upcoming Construction:
In addition to classroom changes, a major change will be the relocation of the
WECC office on the east side of the building by Door 1 at the end of the project.
The project will take place in three phases. Families will receive separate communications.
-
May-June will include: Toddler II, Preschool I, and Pre-K
-
June–August will include: Toddler I and Pre-K
-
August–September will include: Infant I and Infant II
The WECC office will be temporarily located in the Fireside Room off the Commons for the duration of the project. In addition to the classroom work, construction will also take place in shared spaces around the church from May through mid-October. During this time, the church will also be completing separate building projects, including a new Welcome Center at Door 2.
