Employment Opportunities


This a great part-time evening position for someone who can work independently. This person will be responsible for keeping the building clean including restrooms, trash/recycling/compost removal, windows, vacuuming, and supporting other facilities staff with set up and takedowns of various events and meetings

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Clean restrooms, meeting rooms, gathering areas, and other building spaces

  • Daily vacuuming of and trash/recycling removal from offices, restrooms, and common areas, and periodic window cleaning

  • Minor repair work and painting

  • Assist with set-ups and take-downs by moving tables, chairs & other equipment

  • Responsible for closing building according to established schedule

  • Snow removal on sidewalks, salt application, sweeping, debris pick up. 

  • Assist staff and visitors, as needed.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

High school degree or equivalent; at least two years related facilities or janitorial experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  A boilers’ License is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

  • Attention to detail, high ethical and professional standards.

  • Self-motivated; able to work without close supervision

  • Ability to interact positively with members and guests from a variety of backgrounds and to represent Westwood in a professional manner

  • Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations in a calm manner

Monday – Friday 5:00 pm-10 pm.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with hours expected to be 20+ per week. Additional hours may be available and will fluctuate depending on seasonal flow, building events, and building needs.

Children, Youth and Family Minister

Mature and strong living Christian Faith

Minimum of a four-year college degree; theological training preferred

Children, Youth and Family Training and Experience required.

Upfront Leadership Capacity
Present on Sundays and Wednesdays, trips and retreats


Core Competencies

High interest in Intergenerational Ministries, Family enrichment, Parenting Processes
Knowledge of and commitment to Lutheran theology
Passion for children, youth and family faith formation - Candidate must have demonstrable gifts
    for working with children, youth and adults with creativity and enthusiasm.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organization and Integrity essential

Must be comfortable being a member of a fast-paced, dynamic ministry team

Change readiness is a must

Key Ministry activities:

  • Provide leadership in engaging children, youth, and their families in Sunday and Wednesday education and worship.

  • Provide leadership with Westwood Staff and volunteers to develop a robust event-based ministry.

  • Oversee summer youth camps and retreats, including registration, planning, and volunteer recruitment.

  • Birth to 12th-grade family ministry. 

  • Affinity group leadership.
