OUR IMPACT
The Westwood Lutheran Memorial Foundation endeavors to attract, cultivate and manage financial resources and use the income generated to enhance the life and mission of Westwood Lutheran Church. Contributions from generous members and friends of Westwood are prudently invested and, to date, have allowed WLMF to provide over $600,000 in grants to support Westwood programs and projects.
While the church operating budget is focused on basic needs, Foundation grants create opportunities for the church to venture into new areas of ministry. To determine funding priorities, WLMF responds to requests from staff for funding in areas that encompass our lives at Westwood and in the community.
The Foundation looks to fund programs and projects that respond to emerging needs. Some of the past initiatives that received Foundation support include:
OUTREACH
Projects that have supported housing, the homeless and assistance to families in need.
ADULT EDUCATION
Special lecture series, study books, Lenten series programs, staff development.
ART & MUSIC
Fine art purchases for display; concerts and music for special events.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Youth mission and national gathering travel, caring youth awards.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Seminary scholarships, camp and VBS scholarships, Lutheran College student scholarships.
Other Westwood Ministries & Needs
Purchase of video and sound equipment, roof repair, organ repair, salaries for special project personnel, sanctuary altar.
